For this position, the main responsibilities are the following:

• Participate in feasibility studies and integrated design projects.
• Run energy simulations using eQuest, SIMEB, and OpenStudio software.
• Support clients looking to achieve LEED or BOMA certification.
• Run calculations to assess energy savings and develop tools for this purpose.
• Monitor building energy efficiency according to the IPMVP framework.
• Run profitability analyses for energy efficiency projects.
• Identify and develop business opportunities with clients.
• Contribute to the department’s continuous improvement by fostering innovation.

In terms of the checklist, we’re not being original. Here are the qualifications and skills we’re looking for in this position:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, a professional diploma in building mechanics, energy efficiency, or any other relevant university education.
• At least 1 year of experience in energy simulation.
• A strong understanding of the most common energy efficiency standards (ASHRAE, NECB).
• Experience in applying for grants from organizations such as Énergir, Hydro-Québec and other government agencies.
• Ability to read plans and technical documents (architectural and electromechanical plans, control drawings, shop drawings).
• Experience with electromechanical systems (HVAC) design is an asset.
• Membership in good standing with the OIQ is an asset.
• LEED, BEMP, CEM, or CMVP certification is an asset.
• An autonomous, structured, and rigorous approach to work.
• Willingness to meet challenges and to excel.
